Cleaning House

Mama is having a bit of a Meltdown today!

I don't know if it's because I've been stuck in the house due to 3 days of rain, or if it's hormones, or maybe I've just officially lost it!!

Everything is driving me nuts today. The way my kids are breathing, the way they're eating, the way their SNOT is all over EVERYTHiNG! The dog stinks! Every cupboard I open, something falls out, and once again I'm not happy with the way my blog looks! Yep, it's one of THOSE days!! On top of it, I think I'm getting the flu. As I type, my stomach is flip flopping and gurgling loud enough for the dog to look at me with a tilted head. She can't figure out what that sound is. lol

So, my confession today is that I went a "little" crazy this morning. Gracie pulled out every single craft item she has. Lylah pulled out the Moon Sand (maybe it's Moon dough, regardless I'd like to speak to the inventor of this crap product), and everything was all over my floor.... I am so tired of constantly cleaning up this stuff! So, I'm not going to anymore.

Psycho mommy grabbed a garbage bag and threw it all in the garbage. With a screaming toddler, in the trash it went.. I would rather start over than pick that crap up one more time. While I was at it, I opened those cupboards (you know, the ones that have things falling out of them), yep, it all went in the garbage too. If by chance I ever need any of that stuff again, I'll buy it!!! No More!! No more Crap! No more Crap falling on my head, and No more trying to organize CRAP!!!

I have also been in touch with an amazing girl who is going to re design my blog site. Be patient with me, it's in the works. In the mean time, I've changed it for a short time. It was too dark and dreary.. I needed something brighter, more cheerful.. I will let you know when the new changes are coming... I can't wait to see what she comes up with for me!

That is my Rant for today. I think I'm going to go grab another garbage bag or two and keep going while I'm on a psycho roll!! My pantry is getting it next because if another can of corn falls on my foot, it's not going to be pretty!

Hope your day is better than mine.. Mondays suck!! (once again!)

I hear you! I have so many days like this, more lately than ever and I'm not sure why. Everything has been driving me crazy, especially the kids!
Moon sand is the worst. For me it's right up there with Polly Pockets, have you ever tried to find a matching shoe smaller in size than an eraser head?!?
To me that's why we have blogs, so we can rant and rave and someone else will GET what you're going through.

Oh boy that was me last night trying to roll out stubborn sticky dough because the husband insisted he wanted pizza despite the health scare I was going through (bleeding :( but it's much better today) and I just lost it and started yelling at the dough. I don't think I calmed down until I actually got to eat the pizza lol. Rob just kept rubbing my leg and telling me to breathe. He knew better then to do anything else with the stress I had going on lol.

What an insane day! I'm walking around with that constant load of anxiety sitting on my chest.. Every little thing makes me want to snap. My kids for sure think their mommy is crazy!! I need nice weather, and SUN!!! I love this blog, it always reassures me that I'm not alone!
Amy,, what an awful night you must have had.. Now I feel bad for complaining! I'm glad you're feeling better today! I'll be thinking of you!

Found you on Mommy Blogs -- new follower. Anyway, Um, YES> i recently wrote a post about how I can't freaking stand playing with my kids. Most of the time. That's what a bad mother I am...it's really not funny. But it's true.

And the Moon Sand? Shit. They should call it suicide sand - that mess is unreal.

Great blog. I'll be back. Cheers.

Hi there! Following you from Bloggy Moms. Sorry you're having a rough day, although I can totally relate. I don't pitch toys, but we do have a Toy Jail that they go to if they're not picked up. Drives me crazy! Don't even get me started on my husband/third child...

LOL, You are too funny! We all have those days! I reached a breaking point a couple of weeks ago with all the CRAP in the house. So we had a big-old yard sale! I took nothing back in the house....just loaded up the van and took it to Good Will. And yes, Moon sand/dough is EVIL! I'm so glad my kids are growing out of playing with that and play-dough, although they will still occasionally ask to get it out. Found you on VoiceBox and I'm your newest follower!

My guess is that you will probably not miss any of the stuff that you threw away. I've had the same problem with dropping things, I think pregnancy permanently fried my ability to hold onto things!

A big welcome to all of you new followers, and thanks for joining ladies! Thanks also for all of your great comments.. It's so refreshing to know that I haven't actually lost my mind and that some of you also have fits of "getting rid of"..
I went through everything as I "threw" and made sure I didn't get rid of anything special... just toys that have no real place or purpose,, all of the loose craft crap,, and the stuff that has just been stuffed in because there is no where else for it to go and probably should have been thrown out in the first place! I know I won't miss any of it, nor will the girls and it feels SO good to have it gone!!

Hopefully Tuesday will be a the best day ever! When my kids were little, every couple of months I would thin out their older toys and put them in a box in the garage. Always bringing some back and taking some away. It always felt like Christmas when they found their long lost toys and the house wasn't so full of "crap"!!

I hope your rant was good therapy for you! It's amazing how having a good go and therefore "letting go" helps you calm down again. Cleaning out is also so liberating isn't it?
If you read my blog - you will see that I am usually crumpled on my kitchen floor for a few hours.

My two year old just got a whole lot of presents with small parts and play doh and 'crap' as you so accurately put it that I can see going everywhere. Surely there are toys and gifts that don't involve 10million small parts? So get the psycho garbage bag thing - nicely done. Found you through Voiceboks, am your newest follower, be great if you stopped by my blog http://www.myidealife.com.au

See you in the blogosphere,

It's nice to see another down to earth momma. To hear some women tell it their child/children can do no wrong and they'd rather eat their childs snot (sorry gross I know) than say anything bad about it.
Anyway, I seen you on voiceBoks.com and thought I'd check out your blog. I'm now following :). You can find me at http://lifeofayoungmom.blogspot.com, hope to see you there!

OKay......this really had me cracking up. My cabinets are so unorganized...and for every piece of tupperware container that I own, I have 300 lids that do not fit AND when I open the cabinet door, they all come raining down o my cranium. That's when I start swearing, growling and speaking in tongues!! I'm so glad that I'm not alone!
